Bandwagon!!

Guess what?? I just bought a Sun cellular SIM card!! hehehe... The power of social conformity really is astounding.

here's the story:

I bought the SIM...

immediately shoved it in my cell...

Guess what popped out??

SIM CARD NOT ACCEPTED!!

I was like "WTF?"

Tried the second time...

Same result!!

Then it came to me...

Di pala Open-line cell ko...

So I'm using one of the tambak cells my mom has.

Really frustrating!!!

The Day That Was!!!

Yesterday, after their enrollment, Jelo, SD, Ness, Pai, Lele, Kyang, Chika (yes ksama si Chika!!) and I played badminton after. It has been more than 2 months since we last played, so it took us time to again get use to playing for 3-4 hours straight!! It was really tiring!! SD was my doubles partner. And aside from playing against my classmates, there were these two guys who asked us to play with them *we lost 15-12*. Jelo took over for me in the second set, which they won, unfortunately they lost the third set. And so in short we lost the best out of three match!!

After playing for what seemed like forever, we headed out to Pai's place to eat lunch *Chicken and shrimp* then we had ice cream for dessert *pistachio and 'cookies and cream'*. Wla lang, ang sarap!! We went home around 4.

MICHAEL is.....

pessimistic!!

highly depressive!!

really tired!! *physically and mentally*

addicted to pain relievers *I'm trying to stop*

addicted to badminton *can't get enough of it*

very emotional *keeps it to himself*

tired of thinking.... *hmmmmm...*

Not Another Boring Sunday!

I like the feeling of being a proctor!!

Hear me shout:

I HAVE THE POWER!!!

Super power tripping lang...

It was my second time being a proctor for the entrance exam, and there was nothing special about it. Theresa was my partner. And boy was she a good partner. I hardly said anything, I was always outside (chatting with Gj, Jelo, and Louanne) and I even made some careless mistakes, like giving booklets in the wrong row. Good thing she was a good 'sport' (she's one of my closes friends).

It was good to see and talk to my classmates again. It has almost been a month, and there were a lot of things to talk about. And we did. Louanne and I were caught by our 'head' chatting in the hallway. Good thing we are quick enough to think of a reason and squeeze our way out.

Louanne and I were talking along the corridor (it wasn't allowed)
Lou: Mikel, alam mo ba yung blah blah blah......
Mikel: ahhhh, yung blah blah blah....
Lou: hindi yon, yung blah blah blah...
(continued for 10 minutes)
Lou: blah blah blah...
Mike: (sees 'head' walking towards us) ummmm...
Lou: ok!!
(so we asked 'head' what to do??)
Lou: Ma'am, ano po gagawin namin kse yung isang student.... blah blah blah?
Head: huh? tlga?
*walking inside the room*

Good thing she was stupid enough to believe our alibi!!! She wasn't even thinking. If Lou's partner was out buying napkin, she should have been mad because Lou was outside talking to me. And if Lou was outside, who was with the class??
Being a proctor is such an interesting job. You get to see different kinds of people. From the freakishly weird to the "JOLOGS" to the "CONYO" to the beautiful people to the not so beautiful!!!! There were some who finished the test so fast one would wonder if he is a genius or just plain stupid. Basta, it was really interesting!!

The Day That Was!!

I did three things yesterday.

1. Went to UST to get my clearance.
2. Went to RP afterwards.
3. Played badminton.

But like everything else in my life, nothing is as simple as it seems. Let me explain by giving further details on what had happened.

+ I was suppose to get my clearance at UST, now the simple scenario would have been, go to UST, get my clearance, say a quick "HI" to my classmates, and SCRAM! But if that had happened, I wouldn't even bother writing it here in my blog, would I? Now, true to what I have been saying about the complexity of what I had to do, I was still soaking wet when I had a call from kyang asking if I wanted to watch a movie with them after getting my clearance. I said I would. So we agreed to meet up at RP around 1 pm. Simple right? Wrong! I texted Pai asking if she wanted to come with us. She did. We agreed to meet up at UST before 1 pm because of my other agreement with Kyang. So I went to UST around 12:20. Thinking that it would only take me a few minutes to get my clearance, I didn't give myself any extra time. I got to UST just in time, but to my surprise the people giving out our clearances were having their lunch breaks and would be back at 1 o'clock. So I to wait 30 more minutes before I could get my clearance. Good thing Orange, Gladys, Pai, Adriel, Tiff, Jacq, Trish, Mary and Gjeff were there, at least I had someone to talk to. And after 45 minutes of waiting, we finally got our clearances. But the bad thing was, it was already a quarter pass 1.

+ So after getting our clearances, Trish, Pai and I went to RP, and boy was there traffic. We arrived at the mall at around 2, unfortunately, the movie started around 1:20 and Kyang, SD and others, were already inside watching. Thinking that it was too late for us to catch up, the three of us decided not to watch the movie, and instead eat lunch and wait for them. And so we ate lunch at "Popeye's" and waited for the movie to end. At around 3, we met up with Lele, Kyang, SD, Jelo, Joel and Mabs. Lele and Kyang already had to go home, while Joel and Mabs had to go to Ortigas but promised that they will be back and meet us up before we went home. With nothing else to do SD, Jelo, Pai, Trish and I, ended up in a Videoke room in Dreamzone, singing songs like "Kokomo", "Take On Me", "Barbie Girl" (SD's fav?? Hehe..) etc. . . Seeing and hearing them sing was really something, and I really had a blast. Trish and I were the only ones who got a perfect score of 100!! Hehehe. . . And after a quick stop at DQ, we met up with Joel and Mabs and went back to UST via "Supertom."

+ So I arrived home at around 6:30. It was around 8 p.m. when I got a phone call from my cousins telling me we were going to play badminton. (take note: "Telling" not "Asking") It was as if they were stating that I had no choice. They told me they were going to fetch around 8:30. But true to fact that they were really my cousins, they arrived almost an hour late. It was already 9:30, and I really wasn't sure if there was still any badminton court open. And so we went court hunting. We ended up playing at the court at Araneta Ave., which I was told closes at 12 MN. So we played until we were the last ones on the court. After playing we headed out at the nearest Petron Star to buy some drinks and have a little talk. But the little talk turned out to be a long 2 hour talk wherein we were reminiscing what we did when we were young and all the issues our family is currently having. I got home at around 2 am. I couldn't sleep because my adrenalin was still on overdrive. I slept at around 4 am.

It was a very tiring day, but I really had a great time nevertheless.

note to self: learn to commute, my taxi days are over!!

to my classmates: proctor sa sunday and badminton sa monday!!

Now what??

As I saw my grades online, I wasn't surprised to see that I failed BIOCHEM!! With a preliminary grade of 47%, the fact that I failed the stupid subject wasn't hard to swallow, as I was very much anticipating the said outcome. But I will not deny that beforehand and in the mist of the process of psychologically preparing myself for the negative outcome, I really had my hopes up. For the past two weeks I've been thinking positively, saying to myself that it was impossible that our professor would fail almost half of the class. Well I thought wrong!!

As I contemplate the seemingly horrendous predicament that has befallen, I was suddenly stricken by doubt. If I can't handle Chemistry, maybe I should cross out taking medicine and just proceed to graduate school to have my masters degree?? hmmmm...

Now....

For the nth time in my life, I have found salvation by stuffing myself with anything edible my hand touches. At this exact moment, I'm comfortably seated at our couch, drinking chocolate milk, while munching on Becky's Kitchen Crinkles. I am currently eyeing out the box of donuts conveniently just an arms stretch away from me. Help me!!!

Final note:
I was just watching The Simple Life 2!!! It pulled me out of my depressive mood. Thank God for Paris Hilton.

BADMINTON... BADMINTON... BADMINTON!!

Why is badminton such an addictive sport?? hmmmm... *ponders for 5 seconds* Maybe because learning how to play takes like a few minutes.... its sooooooo easy to play *even a 5 year old could hit a stupid shuttlecock* Now that's the things, I play badminton, and I think its one those sports the require the least effort to play or be good at it, and so I think!! *I won't bother explaining the physical aspect* But be that as it may, the addictive aspect of badminton is not the physical aspect of the sport, being too damn easy to play, but it's the psychological aspect. I play badminton because I think I can be really good at it. Even though in truth, my skills are as far off from an Olympic medal as Ralph Nader winning the US presidential elections. Nevertheless, I'm so engrossed playing the stupid sport I plan on buying a 3,450 peso racket!! Am I going too far?? hmmmmm.... *is still pondering* I hope this badminton thing isn't just a phase, cuz that would be a big waste of money!!

Anyway....

I went out with some of my HS friends to play badminton somewhere near mega mall. It has been more than a month since I last played, so I was a little bit rusty *kapal ko noh??* It was a first for most of my friends, and I thought they would stink at it, but being the "Fool-proof sport" that it is, they immediately got the hang of it *to my dismay* After playing badminton for almost 3 hours (with 1 hour lounging in front of the electric fan), we decided to eat lunch at mega mall *El Polo Loco*. I didn't know what happened, but I immediately got full after my third or fourth spoonful of rice... maybe it's all the liquid I drank?? Whatever it was, really felt bloated afterwards. We went home at around 2:30, because of Charsa's annoying boyfriend. *wont go on to details*

The feeling of intentionally letting sweat trickle down your back really feels good, euphoric in a way, as I was imagining that I was actually sweating out unwanted fats and calories. *my primary motivation*

I had fun, but like everything it had its weird moments... So to help me avoid these moments I came up with a list of "Things that must not be taken lightly"
  1. Taking a cab everywhere you go will really burn a hole in your wallet.
  2. When planning to play badminton, make sure everyone has a racket.
  3. Avoid planning a badminton game with an odd number of players *somebody will always have to sit*
  4. Make sure you have a stupid shuttlecock so that you wouldn’t have to buy one *50 pesos!!*
  5. Hera + Trix + Charsa *stuffed in a cab* = NOISE POLLUTION!!
  6. Never listen to Christian's sales pitch *He was trying to recruit us for this networking crap*
  7. Make sure you bring enough money *Spontaneity is a word often acted out*
  8. Have markers differentiating "Mega A" from "Mega B".
  9. Give Trix enough prep time *about 2 hours at the least*
  10. Avoid "Filipino-time" mentality!!
  11. Eat breakfast!!! * I already knew this, I just forgot to eat*

Playing badminton reminded me of my classmates. DAMN!! I miss all of them *I'm such an ass kisser* Can't wait for our next badminton escapade. I'll end it here. I really can't think of anything else to write about!!

Crazy...

The other night I had a horrible nightmare. I was catching my breathe, my heart was pounding like crazy and I was really sweating when I woke up. It was a weird dream, in fact, one of the weirdest I've ever had. I can't really explain nor describe it. The details are too personal and too morbid to describe. All I wish, is that I never have that kind of dream again.

On a much brighter note, I went to the mall yesterday. I was with the undying tandem of Trix and Trina. Trix and I had a hair cut at FIX (I promised myself, I would never go back to David's). My hair looks fine, I guess. I cant really complain.

Trina and ME!

Anyways, its funny, in a weird way, that I forgot what it was like going to the mall on a Sunday night with trix and trina. First of all, I forgot that they get a lot of attention from everybody. I mean people just keep on glancing, looking and sometimes even staring at them. I don't know, its probably the way the dress and present themselves. Even if they don't want to get attention, they just do!! Second, what a coincidence that the mall (RP Manila) was conveniently having a sale on almost every store they had. And lucky me was with two of the most impulsive "shop-aholic" beings on the planet. So it was inevitable, we weren't going home with nothing, so they went and bought a pair of shoes each. Lastly, I almost forgot how vain and narcissistic they are. Both have camera phones so they were taking pictures of themselves wherever we were (at FIX, Karate kid, Starbucks). But anyways, I had fun. Its been a long while since I last went out with my HS friends and I do like their company and opinions and sarcasm and insults and comments and their discriminative attitude.... hehehehe.... bottomline, their my friends!!

*Untitled*
(couldn't think of an appropriate title... brain still full of chlorine!!!)

Last Monday, our class went out on another of it's infamous (I'm using the word loosely), swimming outing/escapade, planned again by our incomparable president, MARINA.... I mean Tiff!! (don't hurt me tiff!!) It was fun.... blah blah blah... I won't wallow too much on the specifics.... bottomline.... I had fun!! But if you want details, check the blogs of my classmates. So, as we frolicked the warm water of Pansol in the middle of October (weird right??), I learned a lot of new things about my classmates.... Here are some:

*A mole on her foot?? Hmmm... probably!!
Tiff, a cross between Hitler and Ariel (the little mermaid) always seem to want to go out and do something.... Literally!! She never stays put!! Whenever we have a break (semester or summer), it almost certain that she has planned another outing for our class. What bothers me, is the fact that, the outings she plans is always a swimming outing or an outing that has something to do with water. It really makes you think... Is she really half fish?? *peace* Anyways, Tiff literally and figuratively has moles on her feet or fins... whatever it is!!

*She has PTSD!! (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder)
Thanks to Lynard!!!

*Lele is ready to become a MOM!!!
I've stressed this out before... I think Lele is ready to become a mom/wife!!! Ahihihihi... She's totally in tuned with her motherly instincts. She's super caring. It wasn't her duty to cook but she took it upon herself to cook almost everything we ate and clean up afterwards. Her cooking skills are amazing. Anyways, thanks Le!!!!

*Gay was with us!!!! (Yes, she was!!!)
Finally, her parent thinks she's an adult!!! Congrats.... hehehehe.... till the next outing!!!

* I'd tike to acknowledge the following people:
Manang: Thanks for not cleaning the bottom of the pool and not lending us any blankets... And for not telling us the air-condition at the other room was busted... that really made the whole experience memorable. Stay safe in your hobbit hole.
Super Tom: Michael Schumacher is nothing compared to you.... And if I were you, I'd be demanding for a raise!!! Hehehe... Drive safe!! (we wouldn't want anything to happen to Pai, mawawalan kmi ng transpo!!) *joke*
Pai: your generosity is a marvel matched only by your sleeping demands. I know it wasn't KL but we sure were glad you were there.*winks*

Note to Phnas: I tried cooking omelettes for breakfast... It didn't taste like yours!!! I have no idea why!!!
